Who we are

People for Ponto is a grassroots community movement dedicated to ensuring responsible and sustainable development of Carlsbad’s last open coastal space. We advocate for a public park at Ponto to address the park deficit in South Carlsbad, protect coastal access, and preserve open space for future generations. We are not anti-development—we simply believe that Ponto should be developed wisely, with a balance of recreation, nature, and community needs. Our goal is to create a vibrant coastal space that serves local residents, visitors, and families while respecting the environmental and recreational value of this rare open land.
